Broiled Brown Sugar Grapefruit


It has been a while since my last post. My husband and I’s world has been tossed and turned through many emotional tornadoes but we stayed strong as a couple to get through them all. The year 2015 has not been our friend. A layoff, four deaths and a diagnosis of infertility has made this year very chaotic but with many prayers and a wonderful family, we are able to grow closer to our God and each other.

Now that I have whined about my life, on to the recipe!



  • 1 Grapefruit
  • Brown Sugar

Step 1: Cut off the top and bottom of the grapefruit so it does not wiggle around later.


Step 2: Cut the grapefruit in half through the middle, not from stem to stem end.



Step 3: Using a paring knife, cut around the edge of the fruit where it meets the rind.


Step 4: Cut along the segment lines.


Step 5: Place on a pan lined with tin foil. (I used parchment paper and it burns way to easily when broiling).


Step 6: If you do not want to add the brown sugar, I would put the pan in the oven now and broil for 2-3 minutes. If you do want to add brown sugar, add a tablespoon or two per grapefruit half. Broil for 2-3 minutes.



Step 7: There are a bunch of different things you can put on top of the grapefruit. I used yogurt and granola, but I honestly liked it better without that I scraped it off after. Eat and Enjoy!
