Toasting nuts is an important culinary technique to know because so many recipes call for them. Desserts, salads and pastas often request nuts that have been toasted because the process of baking them releases extra flavor. You can take these steps and apply them to any nut. It’s easy to do and makes the kitchen smell wonderful.
- Any nut and however much you want to toast (I am using 1 1/2 cups of pecans)

Step 1: Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Cover a baking sheet or a cake pan with parchment paper.
Step 3: Lay the nuts in a single layer in the pan/sheet.
Step 4: Bake for 5-8 minutes. (The nuts look exactly the same but the flavor has been enhanced and the nuts are a bit more crunchy).
Step 5: Eat the nut by themselves or add to a recipe. Enjoy!
